Michael Morgan is a 24 year old singer-song writer from the Sunshine Coast. Music entered his life when he was diagnosed with a rare medical condition at the age of 14. He began to play guitar as a way to distract himself from what was happening in his life. He is a self-taught musician with both singing and guitar. He taught himself to sing by listening to old vinyl records of his favourite musicians. Song-writing soon followed as a way of expressing himself of all his life experiences, now having dozens of original songs. The Starlight Children’s Foundation made his dreams come true by granting his wish of being able to receive his dream guitar. ‘Music has given me purpose and meaning to my life. I feel that it is what I was born to do. I feel honoured now to be able to come back to the Star Ball and say thank you.’
